Insights, stories, and perspectives on skills, careers, and impact
Xcelevate empowers underprivileged youth with industry-relevant skills, real-world experience, and mentorship to build sustainable careers and transform their futures.

An avalanche took away our home when I was 12, and by 18 I had a job, but no future. A tech skilling programme backed by Umang’s belief that skill outweighs privilege gave me my break. Today, I’m a software developer and mentor at xcelevate, helping others find the choices I once didn’t have.

I grew up in a slum and never dreamed of success, only survival. A programme led by Umang saw my resilience, not my background, helping me land a role in a multinational without a degree. Today, I’m a Java backend developer, building a home for my family and a future for myself..
Bhagyashree Karale
I once dreamed of becoming a doctor, but financial constraints closed that door. With encouragement from my dad, mentors, and peers at Xcelevate, I found a new path, and today working at a UK-based bank. Sometimes, a detour leads to a destination beyond imagination.
