Our technical and semi-technical apprentices recently visited NatWest Group for an immersive industry exposure experience, one that went far beyond a typical visit.
What made the day truly meaningful was the opportunity for each student to participate in one-to-one mock interviews. For many, this was their first real interaction with a professional interview setting. It helped them understand not just what to say, but how to think, communicate, and present themselves with clarity and confidence.
The apprentices also had the privilege of interacting with inspiring leaders including Jennifer Scott, Jonathan Hall, Anish Patel, Manish Tiwari, and Arun Ravichandran.
They shared not just their professional journeys but also the realities behind success the importance of persistence, continuous learning, adaptability, and staying curious in a fast-evolving digital world. These weren’t just talks; they were honest conversations that gave students a clearer lens into the industry they aspire to be part of.
Over lunch, the environment became even more open and engaging. Students asked questions freely, shared their own aspirations, and reflected on what they had learned so far. These informal interactions often leave the deepest impact—helping bridge the gap between hesitation and confidence.
A guided walkthrough of the workplace gave apprentices a first-hand view of how modern teams collaborate, solve problems, and build technology that impacts millions. For many, this was their first time stepping into such a professional environment.
And that moment matters.
For students coming from underserved backgrounds, exposure like this does more than inform it transforms. It allows them to visualize themselves in these spaces, to believe that they belong here, and to take one step closer to that reality.
Experiences like these are critical in bridging the gap between learning and the professional world. They convert abstract ambition into something tangible, relatable, and achievable.
A heartfelt thank you to NatWest Group for opening their doors, investing their time, and playing a meaningful role in shaping the journeys of our apprentices.
Because sometimes, all it takes is one day of real exposure to change how someone sees their future.
