Priti grew up in a small village with a dream that felt both powerful and distant.
She wanted a good career. She wanted to support her family. She wanted a life that was bigger than the limits her circumstances seemed to place around her. But like many young women from underprivileged backgrounds, she faced a question that had no easy answer.
How do you reach a future you cannot yet see?
Money was the first barrier. Her family supported her in every way they could, but it was not enough to open doors on its own. What she lacked even more than financial resources was guidance. There was no clear roadmap, no one to show her what steps to take, no certainty that someone like her could enter the corporate world.
Still, Priti carried something important within her. She believed she had potential.
She did not see herself as someone without ability. She only felt she needed the right opportunity, the right direction, and the right support to turn her dreams into reality.
Even so, confidence did not come easily.
The corporate environment felt unfamiliar and intimidating. Priti was hopeful and ready to learn, but she was not fully sure she would fit in. She wondered if she could adjust, if she could succeed, and if she truly belonged in spaces that seemed designed for people with far more privilege.
There was a time when she felt stuck. But she decided to persist.
Even though she could not see a clear career path ahead. She wanted to move forward, to build something meaningful. But she did not know how. Her biggest fear was failure, not only for herself but for her family. She carried the weight of their hopes, and she feared letting them down.
Like many from her background, she also believed that opportunities in large multinational organisations were rare for people like her.
Then she heard about Umang’s programme.
It offered training, mentorship, and something even more valuable: a path. Priti joined because she believed it could become the bridge between where she was and where she wanted to be.
In the early days, the hardest challenge was not just learning new skills. It was overcoming self-doubt. Everything was new, and adjusting took time. But slowly, she began to change. She realized she was improving every day.
And then came a moment that stayed with her.
During training, she completed tasks she once thought were too difficult. And it was at that moment, she told herself, I can actually do this.
The mentors encouraged her, and the step-by-step learning environment helped her build both capability and confidence. What once felt out of reach began to feel possible.
The day she received her placement confirmation at a multinational bank was one of the happiest and proudest moments of her life.
Today, Priti’s life has transformed.
Professionally, she has stability, respect, and the foundation of a strong career. Personally, she carries confidence she never had before. Her family’s situation has improved, and with that has come hope and pride.
At work, people see her as capable and confident. But she remembers the girl she once was, unsure and searching for direction.
Looking back, the biggest difference is clear.
Before the programme, Priti was looking for a path. Today, she is walking forward with purpose.
At home, she has helped her siblings study further by paying their fees and buying them books. She has also contributed to her sister’s wedding. She pays for household expenses regularly. And this is proof that changing one life impacts so many!
And to anyone from a background like hers, she offers a simple message: Do not give up. With the right guidance and effort, you can achieve more than you imagine.
For Priti, this journey has meant opportunity, growth, and hope.
